Our Details

Our Sponsor License Number and address are detailed in this section – you will refer to this information for your Visa application.

Confirmation of the address of the campus at which the majority of your study will take place is also detailed

Your Details 

  • Applicant ID: Your University of Glasgow Student ID number  
  • Family Name (Last Name): Your family/last/surname 
  • Given Name(s): Your first name(s) and any middle name(s) 
     
    Note: If your names are separated in into family name and given name on your passport this will be reflected on your CAS. If your names are not separated, then they will be detailed in full in the family name section – this is a required field for UKVI. The name on your CAS should reflect exactly the name printed on your passport.  
  • Date of Birth: Date of birth printed on your passport 
  • Gender: Gender printed on your passport  
  • Nationality: Nationality printed on your passport  
  • Country of Birth: Country of birth printed on your passport 
  • Passport Number: Passport number printed on your passport  

Course Details 

  • Course Title: The degree you are coming to study. This is is taken from your application record and cannot be changed. 
  • Academic Level: For UG study this is SCQF level 10, PGT study this is SCQF level 11 and for PGR study this is SCQF level 12.  
  • Course Start Date: Start date of your course  
  • Course End Date: End date of your course 
  • Latest Arrival in the UK: The latest date by which you are expected to have arrived on campus to commence your study 
  • Mode of Study: All students who require a visa must be completing full-time study at the University of Glasgow 

English Language Qualification

For nationals of UKVI approved non-majority English speaking countries, English language ability must be demonstrated. 
 
If English language ability demonstrated with a SELT 

  • Is SELT Required: Yes 
  • English Level Attained: The CEFR English Language level that you achieved from the test taken 
  • Test Provider: Either the UKVI IELTS or Trinity ISE for UKVI 
  • English Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing Level: The exact scores as shown on your test report form – please ensure these are correct 

If English Language ability was assessed by any other means

  • Is SELT Required: Yes 
  • Reason SELT Not Required: Details of how we assessed your English Language ability for admission and for CAS as being suitable for your level of study. 

Progression 

If you have previously studied in the UK under a Student Visa, Tier 4 General Visa or a General Student Visa this must be noted on your CAS.

  • Previous Academic Level: The level of your previous course 
  • Current Level Comparison: Indicates whether the course for which this CAS is being issued is at a Higher or at the Same level as your previous UK studies.  
    • Higher = academic progression demonstrated 
    • Same = justification is required to show academic progression
  • Progression Justification: If Current Level Comparison = Same, a justification will be included to describe why the course for which this CAS is being issued demonstrates academic progression from your previous UK studies.

Accommodation and Fees 

  • First year course fees: The fee you will be charged for your first year of study 
  • Course fees paid to date: The amount of tuition fees the University has received from you to date 
  • Accommodation fees paid to date: The amount of accommodation payments the University has received from you to date 

Please note that we can only include accommodation payments up to the value of £1265.00 

Other Details

  • ATAS Clearance required: If the course for which this CAS is being issued required ATAS Clearance, the answer will be Yes

    Check if ATAS is required for your programme 
  • Work Placement: If the course for which this CAS is being issued has a work placement included, the answer will be Yes. 
  • Work Placement Percentage: This field will only show if the course for which this CAS is being issued has a work placement.  
  • Placement Justification: If the Work Placement Percentage is greater than 33% a justification will be provided.

I have renewed my passport and the details on my CAS are for my old passport.

Under ‘Applicant Response’, choose to ‘Request Changes’ and enter detail to explain that your passport number has been updated. Ensure that you also upload a copy of your new passport in the Additional Documents section of Applicant Self-Service.

I have previously studied in the UK under a Student Visa, Tier 4 General Visa or a General Student Visa but it is not noted on my CAS.

Under ‘Applicant Response’, choose to ‘Request Changes’ and enter details of your previous UK studies. If you have not already, please upload a copy of your previous Visa and all academic documents related to these studies in the Additional Documents section of Applicant Self-Service.

I have been awarded a scholarship/discount by the university of Glasgow but it is not detailed on my CAS.

Under ‘Applicant Response’, choose to ‘Request Changes’ and enter details of the University of Glasgow scholarship award or discount. If you have been awarded a University of Glasgow scholarship, please upload a copy of the award confirmation in the Additional Documents section of Applicant Self-Service. Please note, we are unable to include information on scholarships/funding which is not issued by the University of Glasgow.

I have paid more tuition fees/accommodation fees than is listed on my CAS.

Under ‘Applicant Response’, choose to ‘Request Changes’ and enter details of the payments made. We will confirm and update your CAS. Please note, once the CAS number has been issued to you, we strongly recommend that you do not make any further payments until you have received your Student Visa. If you must make a payment to meet the visa financial requirements, then we will NOT update your CAS but instead you can include copies of receipts with your visa application. We are unable to make amendments to your CAS to show the additional funds that you have paid, and do not want you to risk a visa refusal.
