IMSISS Visiting Scholars
The IMSISS Consortium will award scholarships to at least four invited scholars and/or guest lecturers for a total minimum of eight weeks in each of the 2017-2019, 2018-2020 and 2019-2021 editions of the programme. Scholars' mobility is considered eligible between the partners of the IMSISS Consortium (including to/from associated partners) and from an organisation outside the Consortium, provided it is clearly linked to the IMSISS programme. Scholars paid by other EU funds may not apply.
Applications are accepted throughout the year, but you should contact the programme director by email to check availability. Applications should be made using the Visiting Scholar Application and sent by email IMSISS[at]glasgow.ac.uk
Scholars/guest lecturers should:
- demonstrate outstanding academic and/or professional experience
- bring concrete added value to the IMSISS programme in terms of student-centred teaching/lecturing, research activities, Master thesis support, academic/professional networking, etc
- contribute, after their visiting scholar activities, to the promotion and dissemination of Erasmus Mundus in general, and the IMSISS programme in particular, in their university and country of origin.
Scholars will be asked to write a short report/testimonial for use on the Consortium website and for inclusion in reports to the EACEA.
Priority will be given to applicants who wish to work on a joint research funding application/project or joint publication in collaboration with academic(s) at the proposed Erasmus Mundus IMSISS host university.
Duration and Grant
Scholars holding an Erasmus Mundus scholarship will normally spend 1-2 weeks at one of the Consortium's partner universities.
The remuneration for visiting scholars will be determined by the Consortium for each edition and will include all travel, accommodation and additional subsistence costs.
The 2017-2019 award will comprise actual travel (economy) and accommodation costs plus a subsistence allowance of €250 per week.
The host university will provide office space and assistance with travel and accommodation arrangements.
