Research Summary

Paucity of Women in STEM: Is Scotland Appropriately Addressing the Concern?

I am a Full-time PhD student in the School of Education, having previously completed an MSc in Education at the University of Glasgow and a BS in Psychology at the University of La Verne.

My research is an interdisciplinary empirical approach to understanding the disparity of women in STEM Fields in Scotland.    Specifically I will analyse the history of Scottish Policy involving the promotion of women in STEM.  I will be investigating the psychological and sociological factors which contribute to women’s enthusiasm for STEM at school and beyond with an aim of identifying policy practices to address the concerns appropriately.
