Global opportunities team will run virtual information sessions for students who are applying to Go Abroad 

Information about these sessions will be published on Moodle

Main Round applications close

Global Opportunities team will inform students of application outcomes 

Students to accept or decline place by stated deadline 

International Exchange students:  

Global Opportunities team will begin nominating students to partners 

Students start Pathway on Target Connect 

Students begin applications to host universities following successful nomination 

Erasmus students: 

Global Opportunities team will begin nominating students to partners in March-May 

Students start Pathway on Target Connect

Mid-January – end January 

Reserve Round: 

If you were not offered a place in the first round, you will be automatically entered into the ‘Reserve Round’ of applications. The places on offer will be those that were not selected in the main round or declined placed by other students.  

A list of available places will be published only for Reserve Round Students and the application cycle will be shorter than the main round. Further instructions will be sent to students at the time of application.

SUMMER ROUND APPLICATIONS & LAW ONLY ROUND 

February

Summer Opportunities applications open 

Who can apply: Summer School, Summer Traineeships, any other opportunities as advertised.  

A list of available Summer Schools will be published on Go Abroad For Summer website 

Students who apply for Summer Traineeship must identify a suitable opportunity before applying 

Law Only Study Exchange applications open 

Who can apply: Law students for full year or semester 2 exchange  

The places available to Law students in this round will be unallocated places from the Main round of applications. Students cannot apply for international exchange places in this round due to partner nomination deadlines. 

 

End February

Law only applications close 

School of Law will inform students of outcome of application 

List of successful applicants will be passed to Global Opportunities team for nomination to partner

Who can apply: Study Exchange and Traineeships for semester 2, 3rd term SMLC students 

A list of available places will be published on Moodle for study exchange Trainees should identify a placement before applying
