Banners

The Publications team in External Relations has produced a range of banners that can be used at events on or off campus. 

These are available free of charge: email externalrelations-business-support@glasgow.ac.uk with a note of what banners you would like to use and your dates. Please note that you will need to arrange to collect and return the banners. The pull-up banners come in a handy black carrier and are reasonably light. The large, wide-format banner comes in a rigid plastic drum with wheels – it is heavy and cumbersome to move about. You will need at least two people to put up this large banner, and it will take around one hour.

Research banners

Banner production

If you need to get either a pull-up banner or railing banner produced, the Publications team within External Relations have developed templates that can be readily customised for your needs. 

The banner templates all follow University of Glasgow brand guidelines (ie with the marque (logo) placed top left and the brand message (either WORLD CHANGING GLASGOW, or WORLD CHANGERS WELCOME if the banner is for student recruitment) placed bottom left. The charity number – a legal requirement for all marketing materials – appears bottom right.

As with all marketing collateral, a single image covering the whole canvas should be used. The image will need to have enough negative space to accommodate a small amount of text (we recommend no more than 25 words). Please note that any image must be of a high enough resolution (300dpi) when produced at such a large size.

If you wish to add a third party logo it will be placed bottom right – opposite the brand message. Logos must also be of a high enough resolution for print (300 dpi) (therefore it is not suitable to download a logo from a website). You must also ensure you have the appropriate permission to use any third party logo.

If we have capacity within the Publications team, we may be able to design and arrange production of the banners for you. Alternatively we can supply the templates to one of our approved designers for you to work with directly.
