Glasgow University
Tennis Club

If it's tennis, banter and scandal you're looking for, in no particular order, you've come to the right place! Joining GUT will probably be the best decision you'll ever make!

Anyone and everyone is welcome, whether you're the next Andy Murray and fancy trying out for the team or you've never picked up a racquet before, join us for some GUT LOVE.

We train at Dowanhill and Kelvingrove tennis courts, both a 5-minute walk from Uni campus if you have a break in between lectures. On Sunday nights we offer an indoor coaching session, a club favourite, at David Lloyd Anniesland. Transport provided from Uni campus.

Coaching sessions run throughout the week for all levels of the club and a Friday free hitting session.

GUT offers some of the biggest and best socials Glasgow Uni has to offer! Bi-weekly get-togethers for organised fun including a Subcrawl, pub golf, Families, Oktoberfest, Christmas Dinner and so many more, join us to find out!

Recently we have had sober socials playing Bowling and Mini-golf which have been a huge success. At all socials there will be an abundance of friendly faces to meet and get to know!

Teams and competition

At GUT we have 5 competitive teams that compete across Scotland and the UK. With 3 Men's teams, 2 Women's teams and a mixed development team, there is plenty of opportunity to play competitive tennis!

Teams have access to all session provided to the general membership, as well as 2 additional training sessions at Western Tennis Club. The teams compete in BUCS leagues and trophies, with matches being played every Wednesday.
