Glasgow University
Netball Club
Founded 1941

We are a fun, competitive and friendly club who can accommodate all levels of netball. Whether you're a novice wanting to learn a new skill, a one-timer ready to play again, or a seasoned netball player ready for your next challenge, we are the club for you! Improve your fitness, make lifelong friends and play a highly skilled game!

Training

All of our training takes place across Monday and Tuesday evenings. Our training currently takes place at Glasgow Academy and our Strength and Conditioning takes place in the Stevenson Building.

Our training facilitates all levels of play, and so, we have two slots available:

Recreational training

Our beginners rec training takes place on Monday evenings, and our development rec takes place on Tuesday evenings. Both sessions are fun but also challenging enough to improve your skills without the pressure of competition.

Squad training

A session for the more experienced. Always a fast paced and fun session where girls will be constantly improving on their skills and preparing themselves for competitive games in both Glasgow and BUCS University leagues.

Teams

We currently have four squads competing in the BUCS university leagues on Saturdays, the 4s play in 8A, 3s are in 4A, 2s are in 3A and our 1s are in 1A - competing against the very best Scottish and English teams! An extremely prestigious position to be in, and one we are very proud of! All leagues are highly competitive and rewarding.

Our 1st team also play in the local Glasgow Netball Association league in the Premier League. (these leagues attracts high-quality, sometimes national players).

We also play against local Glasgow teams and take part in various tournaments throughout the year including the SSS tournament and the Glasgow Taxis Cup.

Joining

Being a part of GUNC doesn't just include great netball - we have a vibrant social scene with various nights organisers throughout the year for all members! These include themed nights out, subcrawls, pub quizzes, fundraisers... And everything in between! We also have our annual ball every May, The Net!
