Statistics support is offered to:

  • Undergraduates (excluding Honours Statistics students)
  • All Postgraduate Taught students

Exam Drop-in Timetable

Drop-ins are open to any student with any maths question (except Honours level Maths students), and they run frequently between now and the exams. Just turn up with the problem you've been working on and one of our advisers will be happy to help you.

Wed 25th Oct 14:00 - 15:00 Probability This session covers the basic rules of probability, discrete probability distributions, and continuous probability distributions. James McCune Smith 639
Wed 1st Nov 14:00 - 15:00 Hypothesis Testing This session will cover defining the null and alternative hypotheses, and deciding which probability distribution suits different situations. James McCune Smith 639
Wed 8th Nov 14:00 - 15:00 Simple and Multiple Linear Regression This class uses various R functions to generate a best fit line to pairwise ordered data, and then also generate a more complex linear model. James McCune Smith 639

Dr George Vazanellis

George is the Statistics Adviser workign within SLD. He has a PhD in statistics from the University of Glasgow.

He offers 1:1 appointments and other group teaching activities throughout the academic year.
