Postdoc Careers Lunches - The First Friday of Every Month

Don’t leave career planning to the last minute.  Come along to our first Friday of the month careers workshop at 12noon today 2nd August 2019 in the Computing Science (Sir Alwyn Williams Building) level 4.
These are an informal chance to meet other postdocs over a free lunch and hear about a variety of post-postdoc career opportunities.

 

Upcoming sessions:

6 September 2019:  Andrew Stewart, Product Manager (R&D) at Arbnco (a building energy simulation company), formerly a physics postdoc at UofG who has now worked in a variety of business development and industry facing roles. We will also have a talk on moving from a postdoc position to patent attorney.

4 October 2019:  Joy Farnaby, School of Chemistry, Getting the first lecturing job plus Alli Jackson, Head of Research Operations will give a 15min digest on ‘REF, what you need to know as an ECR’.

1 November 2019:  Tanita Casci, Head of Research Policy (and formally a senior journal editor with Nature publishing)

6 December 2019:  Spotting opportunities and carving your research niche - Aleksandra Vuckovic and Zhibin Yu (School of Engineering) (This is a repeat of last year’s session)
