Disability Support for Graduands and Guests
We want all students graduating to be able to enjoy this special day and we would encourage anyone with a disability to contact us in advance so that we can agree with you how we may best support you on the day. Graduation ceremonies take place in the Bute Hall of the University. This is located on the first floor of the main Gilbert Scott Building. Access to the Bute Hall (and the graduand assembly points) is via the main staircase; however, lift access is located behind the south front. Lift access for guests is available outside the Gift Shop or from the Concert Hall Foyer.
Please complete the Graduation Access form below no later than Friday, 8th June if you are:
- a wheel chair user or have other mobility issues, or
- have a visual or hearing impairment, or
- will have difficulty sitting for the duration of the graduation ceremony (up to an hour and a half), or
- if you have any other concern about the arrangements for your graduation.
Our graduation ceremonies take place in the Bute Hall of the University which is located on level 4 of the Gilbert Scott Building (main building). Level 4 is accessible by staircase but elderly or disabled guests may find it easier to use the lift located outside the University Gift Shop (A11 on the Campus Map).
Please complete the Access Request form below no later than Friday, 8th June if any of your guests are disabled or have mobility issues.
Graduands must request appropriate tickets for your guests with breathing or mobility difficulties when you register on the day of your ceremony.
