Alumni Volunteers Week

Alumni Volunteers Week

Issued: Tue, 15 May 2018 13:47:00 BST

Last year we launched Alumni Volunteers Week, coinciding National Volunteers Week and this year we’re running the special celebration again which will be even bigger and better on the 1-7 June, writes Sarah Armour, Alumni Volunteers Manager.

Tell us about your alumni volunteers

If alumni have helped you, whether it is as guest lecturers, committee members, judging panellist, providers of work related learning, helping recruit new students or any other sort of activity - we'd love to hear from you!

Recording = rewarding

We record each contribution from our Alumni Volunteers so that we can give them the recognition they deserve. We organise exclusive thank you events as well as sending special communications and opportunities.

We’d hate to have missed anyone, so we’re asking our colleagues to let us know of the alumni they’ve worked with so that we can make sure they feel part of the community.

To recognise your volunteers, just email details to

To meet the requirements of the new General Data Protection Regulation, we will seek the consent of alumni before using any information passed to us.

Support the campaign

Due to the overwhelming support from staff last year, we’ve organised an Alumni Volunteers Week Campaign Champions Session on 24 May at 2pm in Room 403 of the Fraser Building.

We’re inviting all who’d like to be involved in helping thank Alumni Volunteers and create content showcasing what they do, to come along. Please email Sarah Armour if you plan to attend.

You can support the campaign on social media using the hashtag #UofGAVWeek18

The Alumni Volunteering Programme is a joint initiative between the Careers Service and Development & Alumni Office.
