Do the Daily Mile

Our aim is simple. To encourage all staff and students right across the University to sit less and move more. And a simple step towards this is by engaging in the Daily Mile. Starting in schools several years ago, the Daily Mile does exactly what it sounds like - it involves walking a mile at some point during the day.

I'm sure many of you already walk a mile or two, but how many of you leave your office/workplace at lunchtime and get out and stretch your legs? Each day we will share through calendar invites details of that days walk, the planned route and meeting time. If you can't make the time, then you still have the route you can follow. It takes no more than 20 minutes to complete which still leaves an adequate amount of time to eat and relax during your lunch break.

It's a great opportunity to explore the campus, meet colleagues and students from across the University and help you de-stress and feel more relaxed ahead of an afternoons work.

Please share the sign up link with other colleagues and encourage them to join when heading out.

The Daily Mile is being led by staff within University of Glasgow Sport so please feel free to get in touch with us through this email if you have any additional questions.

We hope to see you out on a walk soon!
