Published: 8 December 2017

All management, professional and administrative staff are invited to the MPA Peer Network Christmas Fair on 18 December.

A quick reminder…

The newly launched MPA Peer Network is for all staff in the Management, Professional and Administrative job family.

Run by a small group of volunteers, the Network aims to provide a social and professional network to facilitate communication, collaboration and support between MPA colleagues at all grades and across all areas of the university.

The Network is holding a Christmas Fair on Monday 18 December, 10am – 4pm in the Wellington Church to celebrate the launch.

Register here to let them know you’re attending so they can make sure there is enough free coffee and treats for everyone.

What to expect…

Stalls featuring local artists and crafts, free festive hot beverages and treats, festive tunes, and a chance to connect with colleagues.

Stallholders include:

Anna Hepburn, a handmade contemporary textiles and upholstery studio, with a collection of unique jewellery and furnishings.

Stevie Spiers, an artist who creates fun images with the help of little model railway figures.

David Richardson, who will be selling original paintings and mounted art prints of Glasgow views.

Unique Thistles, who specialise in floral designs and displays- including Christmas table centre pieces.

Lomond Gifts, creators of luxury gifts made by hand from antler, horn and wood.

Plus, by visiting the MPA Network Stall and sharing your ideas, you’ll be entered into a free raffle draw. Prizes include: a steak dinner at Wild Cabaret, Sparkling Afternoon Tea at the Hilton Grosvenor, a retro sweet hamper, art prints, flower arrangements and much more!

Staff response so far…

The Peer Network committee have been absolutely delighted with the response from MPA colleagues so far.‌‌

"The MPA Peer network is definitely filling a much needed gap. So many of my colleagues have started   talking about it and are ‌‌‌excited to get involved in potential initiatives like mentoring. I’ll be racing them all to the Gingerbread lattes at the Christmas Fair!"
Kezia Falconer, Digital Engagement Officer, Development & Alumni

“As someone who’s worked in MPA roles here over the last 14 years I think the MPA Peer Network is a brilliant initiative which will benefit and bring together MPA staff from across the whole institution. I’m volunteering at the Christmas Fair, which is a great way to kick things off and raise awareness of the network. Free coffee is always a bonus too! I’m excited to see what the MPA Peer Network has to offer in 2018.”
Alan McConnell, Financial Aid Manager, Registry

“I hope all MPA staff from across the University are encouraged to attend the Christmas Fair, I think it will be a really great event.”
Matthew Hastings, Head of Academic and Student Administration, College of Arts
