The University has published its Annual Assurance Statement on Compliance with the Concordat to Support Research Integrity

The University has published its Annual Assurance Statement on Compliance with the Concordat to Support Research Integrity.

It gives details of the University’s activities to support good research practice as well as a summary of the cases of misconduct that have been investigated in the period of 2016/17. The statement has been approved by the Senior Management Group.

In conjunction with the Assurance Statement, Research and Innovation Services are offering guidance and advice on authorship.

Making decisions around authorship can be complicated – especially when projects involve collaborations across disciplines or countries, or with industry.

“We have recently expanded the advice and guidance on what constitutes authorship in a research project, which you can find In the Code of Good Practice in Research.

“We have also developed other tools and resources to help you tackle issues around authorship and good publication practice,” said Elizabeth Adams, Research Development Manager.

Please encourage new staff and students to refer to these resources and attend relevant training. If you have any suggestions for additional resources please contact Amanda McKenna.
