During August, the University will be repeating the UniForum data collection exercise that we last carried out in the summer of 2015. This collection is a benchmarking exercise, where the University is part of a consortium of 18 Russell Group universities, together with another 26 universities in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. All participating universities collect information on how professional services and support staff are deployed across the whole of the University. By comparing ourselves with others, we can make informed choices to realise the ambition of providing excellent services as set out in our Strategic Plan, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of services that support the University’s teaching and research.

The collection period will run from August 1 to 31, with a data-checking period following in September. Whilst this exercise collects information on the work being carried out by all professional services and support members of staff, it is supervisors and managers (the respondents) who are asked to complete the returns. All respondents will be contacted in the first few days of August, and will be asked to carry out a quick piece of work, allocating the work of their teams into activities selected from a framework.

Further information is available on the University Uniforum web page.
