For this edition of the Innovators Forum, the University of Glasgow’s Research and Innovation Services is teaming up with the analysts at IP Group to provide an informative overview of how digital health is impacting on healthcare.
Digital Health is re-inventing healthcare. Artificial intelligence will diagnose you, robot-surgeons will operate on you and genomic data will tell us everything that might go wrong with you before you're even born.
Come along to Research and Innovation Service’s lunchtime, Innovators Forum seminar to meet the IP Group Healthcare team and hear how we think digital health will play out.
Adam Majumdar of Research and Innovation Services will be hosting the event along with Anya Roy and Simon Graindorge from IP Group.

Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre Christmas Concert
The 2017 Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre Christmas Carol Concert will be held on Saturday 2 December in the University Memorial Chapel.
Refreshments will be served from 5pm, with the concert beginning at 5:30pm. During the concert you will hear carols from the University of Glasgow Chapel Choir and the Springfield Cambridge Chorus.
This is also an opportunity to remember Professor Tessa Holyoake, the Centre’s Director and world leading CML scientist, who sadly passed away in August this year.

Painter of Pedigree
A chance to explore the story of the artist Thomas Weaver of Shrewsbury, Animal Artist of the Agricultural Revolution, with the author of a new book.
Waterstones, Byres Road - Thursday 30 November at 7.30pm
Lawrence Trevelyan Weaver is a descendent of Thomas Weaver, whose papers and pictures have passed down to him. Formerly a paediatrician, clinical scientist and medical historian, now Emeritus Professor of Child Health and Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for the History of Medicine at the University of Glasgow, he has spent much of the last five years tracing his ancestor's footsteps, researching and writing this book.
How to Write Winning Award Entries

All University staff are invited to this free training session, as part of the University’s Marketing Forum, to learn more about applying for and winning external awards.
The University targets many different high-profile awards schemes including the Times Higher Education, The Guardian, The Herald and The Diversity Awards.
This useful session - delivered by Jamie Wightwick, Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice Principal - will cover how to structure an application effectively, what to include, and top writing tips, including some real life examples of good (and not so good) practice.
Jamie will also highlight the support on offer from UofG to help with award applications.

EPSRC Photo Competition
Get your cameras ready so you can share your photos and enter the fifth EPSRC Science Photo Competition. This is your chance to share your photos, to support excellence and promote the benefits of outstanding UK engineering and physical sciences.
Prizes are to be confirmed, but previous years' prizes have included equipment to the value of £500. All winning images will be featured in EPSRC's Pioneer Magazine and other EPSRC publications.
The EPSRC Photo Competition is an opportunity for all EPSRC-supported researchers and EPSRC-supported doctoral students to share their research using images. The judges are looking for images that will demonstrate research in action.
