Reminder to staff to ensure the safety of equipment they take into work
In recent meetings, the University Health, Safety & Wellbeing Committee has discussed portable electrical equipment safety and is looking at ways of coordinating and enhancing Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) provision across the University.
In the meantime, we would like to remind staff of their responsibilities, for their own safety and that of their colleagues, of ensuring that any personal electrical equipment they bring into work is safe for use and has first been appropriately examined and tested.
Thereafter, any personal items permitted by a department should be subject to the local inspection and testing regimes that are in place within the unit.
