Partnership Collaboration Awards (PCA) with the University of Sydney

Congratulations to six successful bidders

Last year, 2018, saw the inaugural year of the University of Glasgow’s participation in the Partnership Collaboration Awards (PCA) with our Strategic Partner, the University of Sydney (USyd). This is an exciting funding opportunity for our academics to work with colleagues at USyd to develop a joint research proposal whereby they can apply for funds of up to $40,000 AUD (approx. £23,000) per group to take their research forward.

We have received a fantastic response for the 2019-20 PCA with a total of 22 very strong applications from a wide range of disciplines in all four colleges.  From these, six successful projects have been identified and will be funded. These proposals represent the rich variety of research taking place across the University and we wish our colleagues who have been successful in applying for this funding good luck as they take forward their research proposals with their counterparts at USyd.

Prof Bill Cushley, Dean for Global Engagement for the Region, led a delegation of Glasgow academics to Sydney in November this year to attend the Sydney Partnership Summit and conducted very positive discussions with colleagues there and identified multiple areas of interest for ongoing and future collaboration between the two institutions.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our six successful groups and thank all colleagues who submitted applications to the scheme. Details of the successful recipients can be found here.

The calibre of applications was extremely high, and we hope any applicants who were not successful this year will be encouraged to reapply in the future.
