Following the retirement of Professor Paul Garside, Dean for Global Engagement for Africa and the Middle East, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) & Vice Principal, External Relations, Rachel Sandison, is pleased to announce that the University is seeking applications from ambitious academic colleagues who are interested in the opportunity to deliver the Global Glasgow 2025 strategy.

“The University is looking to make an internal appointment to the position of Dean for Global Engagement for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). This is an excellent opportunity to champion Glasgow’s excellence and take forward our significant international objectives in the strategically important MENA region.”

This Middle East and North Africa post will sit alongside the five existing Deans for Global Engagement. Together with colleagues from across External Relations and the Colleges, the Deans for Global Engagement ensure that the University maintains its position as a World Changing University with strong and successful partnerships around the world.

These roles are critical to delivering our Global Glasgow strategy and span activities ranging from Research, Learning and Teaching, to capacity strengthening, and student recruitment and mobility”
