The Principal announces two further DVC appointments for the University

The Principal has announced two further Deputy Vice Chancellor appointments from within the Senior Management Group, following the confirmation that Professor Frank Coton has been appointed Vice Principal (Strategy and Resources) and Senior Vice Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) from 1 October.

Rachel Sandison will extend her existing Vice Principal (External Relations) remit to act as Deputy Vice Chancellor (External Engagement).

Dr David Duncan will act as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Operations) in addition to his role as Chief Operating Officer and University Secretary.

Rachel Sandison said: “I feel proud and enormously privileged to further serve the University of Glasgow community in this expanded capacity, as we seek to deliver our ambitious, world-changing strategy. External Engagement, partnership and connectivity have never been more mission-critical, and I look forward to working collaboratively with colleagues in progressing our sector-leading activity.”

David Duncan said: “It is a privilege to take on this additional role in support of the Principal.  The University of Glasgow has a high profile externally and I look forward to playing a part in maintaining and strengthening the University’s reputation to the best of my ability.”

The Principal has updated the University Court on these new arrangements.
