Routemap details how operations will restart across our campuses

From 26 April, the Scottish Government will ease some COVID restrictions that have been in place over the winter months as we move into Protection Level 3.

This will mean that we are able to restart a number of operations across our campuses, in line with the Scottish Government indicative timetable for easing restrictions, published earlier this month.

To ensure that the return to campus is managed and communicated in a clear and coordinated way, the University has produced a Recovery Routemap, which details when and how we plan to restart activities across our campuses as we move through the Protection Levels.

To help summarise the changes that we hope to see in each Protection Level, we have also produced a Recovery Timetable, which clearly lays out those changes.

From the 26 April, we expect to open more study spaces, including our new James McCune Smith Learning Hub, and some essential small group practical teaching and lab work. We are also permitted to open catering and retail outlets, subject to some restrictions, and sports facilities for individual exercise.

It is important to note that from 26 April we will still operating two metre physical distancing across our campuses, which will put a limit on the numbers of people who can work in buildings at any one time. For the majority of colleagues who work in academic or administrative offices, the guidance remains to continue to work from home for the time being. If you are in any doubt how these changes affect your role, please speak with your line manager.

As we have done throughout the pandemic, we will ensure all buildings are safe and fully COVID compliant before they are used by colleagues, this includes physical distancing and hygiene measures. From 26 April, we will also be introducing optional colleague COVID testing, available to everyone working on any of our campuses – you can read more about this in this week’s MyGlasgow News.

Thank you for your support and assistance in helping us return to our campuses in a timely and safe manner over the coming months.
