UofGEngage Forum, 5 March

On Friday 5th Feb 2021, we launched #UofGEngage with an amazing group of speakers from across all four colleges, exploring experiences of digital engagement. We were joined by over 100 participants including students, a diverse range of staff as well as external partners. We’ve gathered a few of their great nuggets of wisdom and experience and hope this collection will inspire and support others in their own engagement work. The next #UofGEngage Forum event takes place on Friday 5 March from 10am and will focus on collaboration between Science & Engineering and Arts. How can interdisciplinary collaborations benefit our engagement, our research and our teaching? What support is needed to encourage collaborations or make them more diverse?

We'll have case studies of successful examples, information about funding that encourages interdisciplinary approaches and opportunities to make connections.

Speakers include:

• Sarah Cook (Information Studies)
• Azadeh Emadi (Theatre, Film & Television Studies) and Daniele Faccio (Physics & Astronomy)
• Ed Hutchinson (Centre for Virus Research) and Daniel Livingstone (The Glasgow School of Art)

There’ll also be an opportunity in informal breakout discussions to learn more about the Medical Humanities, working with external partners and how to get started with interdisciplinary collaborations.

International Women’s Day #ChooseToChallenge, 8 March

To mark International Women’s Day #ChooseToChallenge on Monday 8 March, the Adam Smith Business School is hosting a webinar to discuss breaking the stigma of menopause at work. Facilitated by Professor Kathleen Riach, an internationally renowned expert on menopause, women leaders from across policy and industry will consider the opportunities for positive and proactive engagement with menopausal transition in work.
