Memorial service to be held in UofG Chapel on Friday
The SRC and University are devastated by the recent sudden passing of UofG graduate, past-President of the SRC and former board member of the GUU, Breffni O’Connor - our much-loved alumna, colleague and friend.
Following Breffni’s funeral in Limerick on Friday, 6 December, we will be holding a memorial service in the UofG Chapel on Friday, 13 December at 5.30pm. She was our shining Irish star and we invite everyone to come together to recognise Breffni’s life and her incredible contribution to our UofG community.
Following the service, everyone is welcome to the Glasgow University Union (GUU) Beer bar to raise a glass to Breffni – global citizen, environmentalist and activist; a woman full of fun and joy, with a smile that would light up a room and someone who lived life to the absolute fullest.
As part of the service, there will be an opportunity to write in a book of condolences.

Cards can be sent to the SRC Welcome Point (Address: GUSRC, Welcome Point, Mcintyre Building, University of Glasgow, University Avenue, G12 8QQ), addressed to the O’Connor Family and we will pass these to Breffni’s family.
