The UCU has announced the result of its ballot of members on the latest proposals in the university pensions dispute: 64% of members who voted were in favour of accepting the proposals on a record 63.5% turnout.

Dr David Duncan, Chief Operating Officer and University Secretary of the University of Glasgow, said: “We welcome today’s announcement by the University and College Union (UCU) that its members have voted in favour of the establishment of an expert panel to review the valuation of the USS pension scheme and that further industrial action has been suspended. Our focus over the coming weeks will be on supporting students and ensuring that end-of-year assessments proceed as per the published schedule.”
