Resources for teaching
College Librarians can advise you on the wide range of electronic, physical and multimedia resources available for your students. You can request material for teaching via the online book suggestions form, by e-mailing your College Librarian or by making use of the Reading Lists @ Glasgow system.
The Library has a wide range of databases available for your students to help them find appropriate good quality academic material.
As well as our print and e-collections, the Library offers a wide range of services and facilities for students such as group study rooms, a dedicated PG study space and laptop loans.
The University’s repository for learning and teaching material, EdShare is available for you to deposit any teaching resources that you would like to make available to students or a wider audience.
Information & digital skills training for students
College Librarians can develop and run tailored sessions for your students to help them find and use information effectively. We will talk to you about what your students need, and establish whether you need physical sessions, online courses or a combination of the two.
To find out more about what we can offer for your students just get in touch with the College Librarian for your subject area.
Blended & online learning
College Librarians can advise on resources for blended and online courses. It’s a good idea to talk to your College Librarian when planning a new blended or online course, as you will need to establish at an early stage whether the material you want to use is available electronically. Not all publications can be acquired in electronic format and some are prohibitively expensive. College Librarians can alert you to collections of e-books within your subject areas
In addition, following discussions with you about the relevant digital and information skills College Librarians can develop online learning objects tailored to the students on your course. These can be added seamlessly to a Moodle course.

It is useful to talk to your College Librarian if you are planning a new course to ensure that funding will be in place to buy any new material. This is particularly important for blended and online courses where the majority of the course resources will be online.
