Library Zoning Explained

To help you find the right environment to study, the Library is zoned red (silent), amber (quiet) and green (group) study.

There are signs throughout the Library and the walls at the entrance to each floor are painted according to their zone, so you should find it easy to remember which zone you’re in.

Please consider other Library users and don’t block study spaces by leaving your items unattended – you may come back to find someone else using the space.

Using Mobile Phones in the Library

On floors 4-11? Please go to a stairwell to use your phone to avoid disturbing other users.

The lobby outside the Postgraduate Study Space on level 5 is a quiet zone – this is because students using the Assistive Technology Room need a quiet environment to work. Please do not use your mobile phone or have conversations in this area.
