Add or change your profile photo

Add a great photo of yourself and collaborate better! It's a bit fiddly, but quick and well worth doing...

Students

Your profile photo must be:

  • In png, jpg or gif format
  • Smaller than 4MB

Instructions

  1. Save the photo on your computer, your OneDrive, or another location you can get to

  2. Log in to Office365

  3. Choose the profile photo box When you see this empty photo box, you can add your photo. > Change > Upload a new photo

  4. Browse to where your photo is stored and select it

  5. Click Open > Save

Staff with upgraded email account

Your profile photo must be:

  • In png, jpg or gif format
  • Smaller than 4MB

Instructions

  1. Save the photo on your computer, your OneDrive, or another location you can get to

  2. Log in to Office365

  3. Choose the profile photo box When you see this empty photo box, you can add your photo. > Change > Upload a new photo

  4. Browse to where your photo is stored and select it

  5. Click Open > Save

Staff with pre-upgrade email account

  1. Save your photo somewhere you'll be able to access it remotely, eg in your OneDrive for Business, or your H:Drive
  2. From a PC or Mac, open Remote Desktop Connection
  3. Enter ssdremote.gla.ac.uk and click Connect
  4. Enter your GUID and password to log in
  5. Find the AD Photo Edit icon on the desktop and double click to open
  6. In the Name field, enter your GUID and click Search
  7. Your record will be displayed
  8. Click Edit Image > Select New Image
  9. Browse to your profile photo, select it, then click OK
  10. Click Resize to recommended dimensions > OK
  11. You should get the pop up message Update complete: Active Directory object updated successfully

Around 24 hours later, your photo will appear in Outlook, and in Skype for Business.
