William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow: purchased from Arthur 8 June 1869 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note and price code “8. 6. 69 Arthur ah/f” on front flyleaf (repeated on [*2r]) together with his inventory number “No 4195” and a superseded number “No 130”; source confirmed in Euing’s acquisition inventory (University of Glasgow Library, MS Euing 49).

|Binding:||Italy, 19th-century quarter green goatskin, marbled sides; gold-tooled spine; sprinkled red-edged leaves; pink and white silk bookmark; flyleaves have a watermark of a crowned shield with an eagle in chief and a tower in base above the name ‘Giorgo Magnani’, and a countermark ‘Al Masso’. Size: 280 × 209 mm.|
