William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist: purchased by Hunter at the Savage & Tyndall sale for £0.10.6 according to the BL annotated copy of the sale catalogue - shelfmark S.C.S.3*(8).
University of Glasgow: Hunterian bequest 1807; Hunterian Museum bookplate and book-label on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “N.1.4”.
Note:  According to the partially annotated catalogue of the Anthony Askew sale (1775) in Cambridge University Library, Hunter purchased a second copy of the Aldine Theocritus (lot 3350 ‘exemplar pulcherrimum’) for £4.6.0.  Only one copy remains in the Hunterian Library, which on balance seems more likely to be that from the Savage sale.
