William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  acquisition date ‘7. 1. 54’, an early Euing inventory number ‘14’ and his price code (or perhaps shelfmark?) ‘Q.Qqv’ on front free endpaper, all in pencil;  source unknown.
University of Glasgow:  presented by Euing in 1872 according to University Library bookplate on front pastedown.
Binding: England, 18th-century diced brown russia, covers decorated with a deep gold-tooled border formed by triple fillets and three different rolls;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  turquoise silk bookmark;  evidence of an early manuscript title written horizontally across fore-edge.   Size:  312 x 212 mm.
