Provenance: William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  acquired by Euing 24 June 1847, source unknown;  Euing’s pencil acquisition date “24 6 47”on verso of front free endpaper together with an inventory number “17” and the initials “DQ”.
University of Glasgow:  presented by Euing in 1872 according to University Library bookplate on front pastedown.
Binding: 19th-century grained, brown morocco;  covers decorated with a panel design using gilt and blind tooling;  gold-tooled spine;  brown endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  blue silk bookmark.   Size:  266 x 200 mm.
Leaf size: 258 x 189 mm.
Annotations: Single word insertion in margin of f5v;  ink doodling on k6r and n5v.
Decoration: Initials, capital strokes, paragraph marks and underlining supplied in red throughout.
Imperfections: Wanting the final blank leaf.
