|Binding:||England, 18th-century calf; covers decorated with a double gold fillet border; rebacked in the 19th/20th century (original spine covering unrecorded); red-edged leaves; flyleaves have a “pot” watermark containing the initials “G D” and surmounted by flowers and a crescent with horns turned upwards (see Heawood 3624 for a similar watermark but with different initials). Size: 274 x 197 mm.|

|Annotations:||Occasional marginal and interlinear annotations (often cropped) in English and in Latin in 16th-century hands; occasional underlining and pointing hands; the word “pope” has been struck through on b1v, n2v, n5v and n6v, likewise “ſeynt Thomas” on g4v; pen trials on a2r; ten-line recipe “for the canker” in a 16th-century hand on I7v; 18th-century price “2-2-0” in pencil and initial “D” in red crayon on front free endpaper.|
