|Binding:||Scotland, 17th-century blind-tooled calf, covers decorated with quadruple fillets to form two concentric mitred rectangles with initials “G” and “M”, separated by a thistle tool, in centre of each cover; original spine covering perished; two brass catch plates on rear cover; binding restored - new millboards covered in Hermitage calf with original covers feathered on and with new endpapers and flyleaves - by Anthony Gardner, whose binder’s apologia, dated Christmas 1964, is written on rear free endpaper; original red-edging of leaves retained and slightly re-tinted. Size: 272 x 190 mm.|
