Note: In this copy the second preliminary gathering of eight leaves (5-8)8 “Tabula alphabetica ex singulis libris et capitulis totius Biblie” is bound after the colophon leaf i.e. between gatherings hh and AA. 
Provenance: William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  source unknown;  Euing’s inventory number “No 66”  in pencil on recto of first leaf (title-page).

Binding: 19th-century quarter brown morocco, buckram-covered boards;  red-edged leaves.   Size:  199 x 148 mm. 
Leaf size: 192 x 143 mm. 
Annotations: Very occasional pointing hands;  very occasional marginal annotations in Latin in a 19th-century hand;  heavily erased early inscription at head of first leaf (title-page);  imprint details added to title-page in a 19th-century hand;  biblical references in a 17th-century hand on EE4v together with quotation from Jeremiah 17:11 “perdix fovit que no[n] peperit fecit diuitias sed no[n] in iudicio”. 
Decoration: The woodcuts and woodcut initials at the beginning of each of the first four books of the Old Testament have been partially decorated with yellow washes (with the addition of red in the case of Leviticus).
