William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist: according to Peter Molini’s bill to Hunter (University of Glasgow Library, Hunter Papers H214), he purchased a copy of the Sermones de sanctis for Hunter at the Brancas de Lauraguais sale (lot 69) for 36 livres 19 sous; however, lot 69 in Guillaume de Bure, 'Catalogue d’une collection de livres choisis, provenans du cabinet de M***' (Paris: 1770) is an edition described as “sine loco et anno” and bound in “M.R.” (i.e. red morocco) - both descriptions being at odds with the present copy of this work in the Hunterian Library, which has a calf binding and a spine label clearly identifying the edition as “1473”.
University of Glasgow: Hunterian bequest 1807; Hunterian Museum bookplate on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Av.3.5”.
