|Binding:||Germany, 16th-century blind-tooled pigskin over bevelled wooden boards; covers decorated with intersecting triple fillets to form a centre panel and surrounding frame; the centre panel is divided by triple fillets to produce a pattern of four lozenges and eight triangles; the covers further decorated with separate rosette stamps; spine undecorated (but with a title label added in the 19th/20th century); remains of two clasps; chased brass catch plates on front board; endpapers and flyleaves (not contemporary) have a tête de boeuf watermark surmounted by a five-petalled flower on a stem.
