Provenance: William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow: source unknown; purchased 25 Apr. 1839 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note with price code “WE/9 25/4/39 i/” on verso of front free endpaper, together with an early Euing inventory number “36”.
University of Glasgow: presented by Euing in 1872 according to University Library bookplate on front pastedown.
Binding: 18th-century brown calf;  covers undecorated;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  sprinkled red-edged leaves;  portion of an armorial watermark with crown visible on front flyleaf.   Size:  211 x 153 mm.
