The Coronavirus pandemic has created a set of extraordinary and unprecedented circumstances which require the provision of clear, responsive policy and guidance to support all University staff. In these unprecedented times, the University remains committed to its mission and purpose, and to the shared values which bring our community together. These include a strong belief in fairness and equity, a desire to make best use of the talents of all our staff, and an objective to improve the well-being of society as a whole.
This portal has been created to help support and enable all our staff and managers to work as effectively as possible during this challenging time. All relevant HR policy and process provision will be regularly reviewed and amended to ensure it reflects the most up to date government advice.
Throughout this period, the University will continue to operate as fully as possible, in accordance with official guidance. Appropriate technologically enabled working approaches will be adopted to support the delivery of ongoing operational and strategic requirements.
As far as possible, the University will endeavour to ensure staff will not be financially disadvantaged by following government and Public Health advice. All line managers and staff are encouraged to work collaboratively during this time and to utilise the University’s suite of relevant policies and guidance, including our Flexible Working, Supporting Staff with Caring Responsibilities and Managing Attendance Policies (available via our HR Policy A-Z) and take account of the specific circumstances of each colleague to support the continued delivery of the University’s operational requirements. This principle will be applied in accordance with our existing policy guidance and depending on individual circumstances.
Should you require any further information or guidance regarding the application of our human resources policies in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic, our HR teams remain ready and able to assist, and their contact details can be found here.
