Personal data and email communication

Personal data and email communication

The Marketing, Recruitment & International Office organises a range of events and sends targeted communications to our advisers and prospective students.

We currently use third party services for many of our online event bookings, and to provide managed email communications.

For bookings, including Open Days, Applicant Days and Regional Information events, we use Eventbrite: a third party service which is not operated by the University of Glasgow. Details of Eventbrite’s privacy policy can be found at:

If you wish to attend an event organised by us, but do not wish to use Eventbrite, please email us at:

Campaign Monitor

We currently use Campaign Monitor as a managed email service for prospective students and advisers.

We use Campaign Monitor to store prospective student and adviser data and to send targeted communications based on information supplied to the University of Glasgow by one of the following means:

  • Online forms on the University of Glasgow website, including prospectus requests
  • Details provided at an event to one of our representatives or approved agents
  • Data supplied to us, with consent, through third party Higher Education websites and mobile applications such as Hotcourses, Graduate Prospects, FindaUniversity and HelloUni

We try only to send communications through Campaign Monitor that we believe to be timely and relevant based on the data supplied to us.

Communications sent may include:

  • Information about events
  • Information about relevant study and funding opportunities
  • University news stories we believe may be of interest to you
  • Details of upcoming deadlines relating to the application process for our degrees or scholarships

Campaign Monitor's terms of use and privacy policy can be viewed at:

You can opt out from further communications at any point by using the Unsubscribe link in any of our communications.

Please note, we will never send vital information relating to an application through Campaign Monitor. Applicant communications are sent through the University's MyCampus system.
