8 February 2021 - Covid-19 Assessment Support Measures
Issued: Fri, 08 Jan 2021 10:00:00 GMT
I hope that this message finds you well and that you are continuing to manage your studies under the current challenging circumstances.
In January I wrote to you to say that we understood the difficulties that many of you were facing and that we were developing some assessment support measures to mitigate, as far as possible, the challenges arising from the pandemic. I am writing today to give details of some of those measures. The attached message covers the following areas:
- The Good Cause process
- Some amended requirements for degrees being awarded in 2020-21.
We are looking at other areas such as exams and progression/entry to honours, and more information on these will follow. The Students' Representative Council continues to be involved in these discussions and I am very grateful for all their input.
I would encourage you to read the message carefully, and I hope that you will find these measures helpful. You can view the information both in the attached pdf document and at gla.ac.uk/assessment.
Remember that if you are facing particular difficulties, there are various sources of support available. Staff in your academic area will be able to advise you about who to contact, or you may wish to use the HelpDesk.
With best wishes,
Professor Jill Morrison
