Campus access

In line with Scottish Government guidance, the University’s default position is that colleagues should continue to work from home where possible.

Work on campus is subject to physical distancing requirements and occupancy limits in buildings. Face coverings must also be worn in accordance with the University’s policy.

All staff coming onto campus under any circumstances must have completed the Return to Campus Moodle course.

Managing access for colleagues

Heads of Unit are expected to support and monitor working arrangements within their area of responsibility to ensure that staff/PGRs are present on campus only when this is required.  Where staff/PGRs don’t have to be on campus for all of their working time, attendance should be managed through a rota system or through flexible, needs-based attendance patterns

Visiting to collect items from offices

If you wish to temporarily access one a building to pick up equipment or material to support remote working, you can make a request to do so via the UofG Helpdesk.

Car parking

Please see our Car Parking webpages for the latest guidance on parking for student, colleagues and visitors of the University.

The Daily Operations Team meeting in Estates reviews and controls access of contractors to buildings across Campus.

If you need to bring contractors on campus please email the Operations Team so access can be authorised and added to our Contractor Log. It should be noted that If the contractor is not listed on the Contractor Log, access may be delayed or refused.

It may be necessary from time to time to arrange Janitorial support for contractor access and by contacting this email address these arrangements can be authorised and put in place.

A notification period of at least one week is required for out of hours and/or weekend cover.

Please note, the University member of staff who appoints a contractor to come onto campus has a degree of responsibility for ensuring the contractor has information of the processes and behaviours they are expected to follow.

Upon attendance the contractor’s employees must use the sign in and out books present in buildings they are accessing.

All visitors to buildings should use whatever visitor-logging mechanisms are in use in the building they are visiting.

In addition, safety arrangements must be made for visitors and those hosting them must ensure that they are clear on the COVID-19 arrangements for the building and campus.
