Administrative History:

The Glasgow and West of Scotland Association of Registered Medical Women was founded in 1904. In 1917 the Glasgow Association and 23 similar groups from across Britain came together to form the Medical Women's Federation. The following year the Glasgow Association re-named itself the Scottish Western Association. Between 1919 and 1932 the Scottish Western Association met regularly with the Eastern Association to promote the interests of Scottish medical women. The Medical Women’s Federation established a Scottish Standing Committee in 1932.
