Agnes Muir Stewart was born on 1st August 1913. She studied at Glasgow University and qualified MB, ChB in 1936 and MRCOG in 1944.
She held positions as an obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Royal Samaritan Hospital and Redlands Hospital for Women in Glasgow.
She married Charles Oakley but continued to use her maiden surname for professional purposes. She died on 18th October 1972.
