Administrative / Biographical History

Dominic William Andrew McCreadie was born in 1922. He was educated at Anderson’s College of Medicine and St Mungo’s College, both in Glasgow, and at Strathclyde University. Obtained licence to practise medicine and surgery in 1945 and graduated PhD in 1974. Senior Medical Officer, later Director of Hospital Services, Kuwait, 1949-1961; Chief Medical Officer, American Independent Oil Company, Kuwait, 1961-1963; Assistant Senior Administrative Medical Officer, Western Regional Hospital Board, 1963-1965; Senior, later Principal, Medical Officer, Scottish Home and Health Department, 1965-1982; Senior Medical Adviser, Common Services Agency, 1977-1987; Community Medicine Specialist, Greater Glasgow and Lothian Health Boards, 1987-1989. Retired at Eaglesham, Renfrewshire, 1989.
