Administrative / Biographical History
Bernard Isaacs was born in Glasgow in 1924 and educated at the University of Glasgow, Scotland gaining MB, ChB in 1947 and MD in 1957. He was Senior Registrar at the Western District Hospital, Glasgow and Assistant Lecturer in Materia Medica at Glasgow University as well as Assistant Physician at Foresthall Hospital between 1957–1961.
Isaacs then became a Consulting Physician at Foresthall Hospital from 1961–1964 and then a Consulting Physician in Geriatric Medicine at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Associated Hospitals between 1964–1974. Isaacs then went on to become Professor of Geriatric Medicine at Birmingham University, 1974–1989 before retiring to Jerusalem, Israel. Isaacs died in 1995.
