Frances Mossley Wilson Hamilton was born in Hurlford, Ayrshire in 1926. She was educated at Glasgow University. She was awarded a MB ChB (1950), DPH (1957) and DObst (1954). She became a Medical Officer, Glasgow Corporation; Senior Medical Officer (Community Medicine), Greater Glasgow Health Board, 1974-1987, latterly Leader of the Glasgow Centre for Registration of Abnormalities in Fetuses & the Newborn. Retired to Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, 1987.
