Material collected/created by Dr Emslie in his capacity as Consultant Epidemiologist, Communicable Diseases (Scotland) Unit, Ruchill Hospital, including GGHB Tuberculosis Monitoring Group; Scottish Health Service Planning Council, Working Party on Tuberculosis; research carried out by Dr. Emslie into Tuberculosis in Scotland.

Administrative / Biographical History

Dr Emslie qualified in 1960 and obtained his MD in 1967.  After undertaking work in bacteriology in laboratories in Middlesborough and Ayrshire he was appointed as a Consultant Epidemiologist in the Communicable Diseases (Scotland) Unit at Ruchill Hospital.
He was a member of the GGHB Tuberculosis Monitoring Group and the Scottish Health Service Planning Council, Working Party on Tuberculosis. In the 1990s he retired to Troon.
