Administrative / Biographical History
Sir William Ferguson Anderson was born in 1914, and was educated at Glasgow University. He was awarded a MB ChB (1936) and a MD (1942). He was a Physician at Foresthall and Western District Hospitals, Glasgow and Stobhill Hospital before becoming Professor of Geriatric Medicine at Glasgow University, 1965-79. He retired to Blanefield, Stirlingshire and was knighted in 1974. Sir William was also awarded an OBE. He died in 2001.
