In 1999 the larger South Glasgow University Hospitals NHS Trust replaced both the Victoria Infirmary NHS Trust and the Southern General NHS Trust.  The South Glasgow University Hospitals NHS Trust was responsible for the Victoria Infirmary, the Southern General Hospital, Cowglen Hospital and Mansionhouse Unit, Mearnskirk House, and the West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre.
