Administrative / Biographical History
The Greater Glasgow Health Board South Eastern District was established in 1974 as part of the reorganisation of the National Health Service. It was responsible for the Leverndale, Mearnskirk, Philipshill, Royal Samaritan and Rutherglen Maternity hospitals, Rutherglen Health Centre and the Victoria Infirmary. The district tier of administration within the Greater Glasgow Health Board was abolished in 1984 .
